New Beginnings Church - About Us

Who We Are
New Beginnings Church is one church with one mission and zero perfect people. Our goal is to show people that through the love of Jesus Christ, we are given Many Chances. Which is exactly what some of us need sometimes. We are seeking to reach those who are hurting, who have been hurt or may have hurt someone and are looking for a New Beginning. We are the Church of Second and Third Chances (and many more).

What We Believe

  1. Scripture - We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God complete in its form containing 66 books. (II Timothy 3:26)
  2. Salvation - We believe man is sinful by nature. (Romans 3:10) We believe that man can not get to heaven on his own merit. (Ephesians 2:8-9) We believe the only way to heaven is by accepting Christ’s death on the cross, and His triumph over the grave through His resurrected body. (Romans 5:8) We believe we confess our sinful nature and our acceptance of God’s free gift of salvation. (Romans 10:10)
  3. Baptism - We believe all believers are to be baptized by immersion. (Matthew 3:6, Acts 8: 38-39 & Colossians 2:12) We believe baptism to be separate from salvation. (Matthew 28:19) We believe baptism to be instructed by Jesus. (Matthew 28:19)
  4. Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person. Equal with God the Father and Jesus, God’s own Son. (John 14) We believe the Holy Spirit functions as an agent in the new birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, sanctifies and helps the believer.
  5. Communion - We believe the observance of the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by those who have a redemptive relationship with Christ. We welcome all believers to observe communion with us. We believe the bread represents Christ’s body and the fruit of the vine is symbolic of Christ’s shed blood. We believe communion is to be preceded by solemn self-examination.

Our Purpose - To Love God and Love People, Reaching the World, and Serving Each Other:

At New Beginnings Church, we don’t believe in pointless activity. Scripture teaches us in Acts 2: 42-47, that the church has five distinctive purposes or reasons to exist.

They are:

  1. Evangelism
We believe we exist to reach those who are lost with God’s message of hope and love, proven by Christ’s death on the cross. Lost people matter to God, therefore; lost people matter to us.
  2. Worship
We believe that worship is not a song, it is a lifestyle.  We believe worship is to be a celebration of His love, a reflection of His life, and an adoption of His cause.
  3. Discipleship
We believe discipleship is not only about information but it is also about action. We believe a changed life must be lived in the world in a real way to make a difference that counts for eternity.
  4. Community/Relationship
We believe God created us to be in relationship with one another. We prioritize accountability rooted in love. We believe life-change happens best in a relational community.
  5. Serving
We believe we are to seek every opportunity to “be God’s hands” to further God’s message. We believe serving not-yet-converted people is how God will reach them. We believe everyone is given a spiritual gift to be used in the church.

Our Core Values
  • We believe that Spirit led teaching is the key for transformation in individual lives and in the church.
  • We believe lost people matter to God and therefore; absolutely matter to us.
  • We believe the church should be culturally relevant, while remaining doctrinally pure.
  • We believe that authenticity as believers requires a constant pursuit of continuous growth.
  • We believe the church is to operate in a spirit of unity among the entire body.
  • We believe it is the responsibility of men and women to manage their spiritual gifts and financial resources.
  • We believe that loving relationships should permeate in every aspect of church life.
  • We believe life change happens best in significant relationships developed through community groups, discipleship, accountability groups and other aspects of church life.
  • We believe excellence in every day life worships God and inspires people.
  • We believe that the church should be led by men and women submitted to God’s leading and the Holy Spirit’s work.
  • We believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is expected for every believer.
